Martina Magenau Jacobs, her mother, was director of alumni affairs for alumni affairs at Heinz College for Carnegie Mellon University. William F. Jacobs Jr. is her father. Lebanon. She is of French German, Irish, as well as Scottish roots. Jacobs' family owned the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery, established in Erie Pennsylvania 1847. John Martin Magenau Jr. was in the position as President and CEO of the company since 1978, until the brewery's the brewery's closure in 1978. Jacobs began her acting studies at the age of eight and attended acting classes on Saturdays at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up.She performed with the Pittsburgh Public Theater where she had a regular place for the Public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest leading her to be chosen in the role of Titania in their stage production A Midsummer Night's Dream. Mt. Jacobs which she graduated from in 2000 from Lebanon High School moved in New York City New York where she studied at The Juilliard School. She earned her bachelor's degree in the year 2004.
